About NSPS

The National School of Planning and Statistics (NSPS) is a public higher education institution in Cambodia that focuses on training professionals in planning, statistics, and demography. It operates through three specialities:

  • Faculty of Development Planning
  • Faculty of Statistics
  • Center for Training, Research, and Development

Historical Background

  • 1986–2000: Initially established as the Intermediate School of Planning.
  • 2000–2022: Functioned as the Planning-Statistics Training Center.
  • July 14, 2022–Present: Officially upgraded to the National School of Planning and Statistics (NSPS) by Sub-Decree No. 144.

Academic Contributions

NSPS plays a crucial role in human resource development for Cambodia’s planning and statistical sectors. It provides theoretical and methodological training to government officials and researchers, equipping them with analytical tools for policy formulation at national, regional, and international levels.

Current Status

  • NSPS operates under the Ministry of Planning and holds the same administrative rank as a General Directorate.
  • It collaborates with provincial planning departments to integrate practical fieldwork into its curriculum.
  • As of now, NSPS does have very strategic partnerships with national or international development organizations or private sector entities
